No truck can beat the towing and hauling power of the 2021 Ford F-250. This pickup is big, powerful, and versatile, offering its owner almost unlimited capabilities. For the 2021 model year, Ford added some new exterior colors and added trailer tow mirrors to the XL Power Equipment package for the base models. Also for 2021, the F-250 now offers the option for a bed step. Here is a closer look at some features you get with the 2021 Ford F-250.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The F-250 XL is the entry-level model. It has 17-inch wheels, halogen headlights, manual telescoping side mirrors, and trailer wiring. The XLT adds 18-inch alloy wheels, the BoxLink system in the bed with lockable tie-down cleats, and rear privacy glass. Upgrade to the Lariat for upgraded 18-inch wheels, fog lights, heated side mirrors with a power-adjustable feature, and a power-sliding rear window. For a Western theme, choose the King Ranch. This truck has a rear bumper step, LED box lighting, remote tailgate release, and memory for the side mirrors. If you go for the F-250 Platinum, you'll get 20-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, Quad Dual-beam LED headlights, and a tailgate step, and the top-level Limited adds a power moonroof to these features.
Engine (Power)
All of the F-250 models except for the Limited get power from a 6.2-liter V-8 gas engine. It produces 385 horsepower and generates 430 pound-feet of torque. The Limited bumps up the power with a 6.7-liter turbo diesel V-8 engine with 475 horsepower and an impressive 1,050 pound-feet of torque. A new 7.3-liter gas V-8 is also an option for all but the Limited. It delivers 430 horsepower and generates 475 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
This pickup truck can tow massive loads. When equipped with the turbo diesel engine and a conventional hitch, it can handle up to 35,750 pounds. Add a gooseneck hitch, and this goes up to 37,000 pounds.
Interior
Depending on the cab, there's room for up to six in the F-250. The cabin is comfortable with an upscale feel if you have an upper-level trim. Leather upholstery for the front seats comes in the Lariat, and the King Ranch adds heated and ventilated front seats. The higher trims add extras like power-adjustable pedals for the driver with memory settings, heated rear seats, and a heated steering wheel.
All models except the base trim have an 8-inch touch screen, the SYNC 3 infotainment system, and Bluetooth. You can also get navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, satellite radio, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
Safety Features
All of the F-250 trims come standard with a rearview camera, hill-start assist, and Ford's AdvanceTrac with stability control. All but the XL also come standard with the Co-Pilot360 suite of driver safety features. This bundle includes a pre-collision system with automatic braking, automatic high beam assist, lane-departure alert and lane-keep assist, and a blind-spot monitor with trailer coverage. Opt for the Platinum trim level, which adds an adaptive cruise control system and adaptive steering for even more safety features.
